Why does Deline say my access doesn't include this?

Your role in this business does not allow that action. Only the business owner can change what you may do. Nothing you entered is lost; ask the owner to give you the access, or to do this step for you.

Which message did you get?

  • "Your access here doesn't include this. Ask a business owner if you need it.": you have a role or a custom access list that leaves this out.
  • "Your role can't do this. A business owner can.": this is an owner-only action.
  • "Only the business owner or its accountant can do this in the books.": a books step for the owner or the Accountant.
  • "Ask the owner or your accountant to approve this." or "… to post this.": you may prepare the entry, but someone else approves or posts it.

What can each role do?

  • Owner: everything, including billing, the team, closing the business and where it is taxed.
  • Editor: the daily work, without the owner-only parts.
  • Accountant: the books, journals, periods, the chart of accounts, reports and filings, preparing and issuing invoices and matching bank lines. Never billing, the team, closing the business or where it is taxed.
  • Viewer: reads only.
  • Custom: exactly the list of permissions the owner ticked.

Filing tax returns with the business's own key (Ukraine, КЕП) is in no role. Only the owner can grant it to one person.

How do I get access?

Ask the owner. The owner changes roles and custom access in Settings → People & access.
