Record an expense claim with its receipt

Someone paid a business cost with their own money, for example train tickets to a trade fair. Record it as an expense claim with the receipt attached; once approved, the business owes that person the amount until you pay it back.

If something goes wrong

  • The receipt was refused: every file is checked for viruses first; a file that fails the check is not saved. Ask for a fresh copy.
  • The wrong account: before approval, the claim can still be corrected; after posting, ask your accountant for a correcting journal.
