How many files, and which kinds?
Usually up to 4 files per invoice: PDF, PNG, JPEG or plain text, up to 1 MB each. The counter next to Attachments shows how many you have used, and File upload details shows the exact limits for your business. Each file is checked before it is saved.
What happens when I issue the invoice?
The files are fixed: Original files preserved when issued. On an issued invoice you can open and download them, but not add or remove any. An issued invoice without files shows "No supporting files were added to this invoice." Add every supporting file before you issue.
Can I remove a file?
Yes, on a draft. Press the remove button next to the file, then Remove attachment, or Keep file to leave it.
Who can add files?
Team members who can edit invoices: the owner and editors. Viewers only see the files.
If something goes wrong
- "Choose a PDF, PNG, JPEG, or UTF-8 text file of at most 1 MB.": save the file as a PDF or image, or make it smaller, and add it again.
- "The attachment could not be uploaded.": check your connection and try again. If the invoice already has 4 files, remove one first.
