Why can't I change the country where my business is taxed?

Once your books have records, the tax country is fixed. The country decides the books currency, the chart of accounts, the taxes and the reports, so changing it would break what is already recorded. For another country, create a new business.

When can I still change it?

Until the first invoice is issued and the books are set up. Then the owner presses Change tax country in Settings → Business (see Change the country where your business is taxed).

How do I know it is fixed?

The country shows Fixed, and Change tax country is gone. If you try anyway, Deline says "Where this business is taxed can no longer change: its books already have records."

What should I do instead?

Create a new business for the other country with Create business. Each business has its own country, currency and books. Your existing business stays as it is, with all its records. One account can be in up to 10 businesses.
