Where do I see what is still owed?
When a payroll is posted, the journal puts the withheld amounts on liability accounts. In Cyprus these are PAYE liability, Social contributions liability and Net wages liability. In Spain the journal drafts carry the IRPF and Social Security amounts, and in Ukraine the ПДФО, military levy and ЄСВ are owed to the budget. Those balances show on your balance sheet until the payment is recorded.
How does the payment get recorded?
When the money leaves your bank, reconcile the bank line against the liability account. Only then does the balance go down. A payroll that is only a draft, or posted but not paid, is not paid.
Does Deline track whether it was filed?
No. In Cyprus Past months shows Paid and filed as Not tracked here. Filing happens outside Deline: PAYE on the Tax For All (TFA) portal and social insurance with the Social Insurance Services in Cyprus; in Ukraine the Д1 / 4ДФ in the Електронний кабінет. In Spain you or your adviser file outside Deline.
If something goes wrong
- The liability does not go down: the payment is not reconciled yet. Match the bank line to the liability account in Reconcile.
