I imported the wrong bank statement. How do I undo it?

Importing a statement posts nothing, so your books have not changed yet. "Amounts stay in … : nothing is converted, and importing posts nothing." What changes the books is what you record or reconcile from the lines afterwards, and each of those steps can be undone.

What does Deline stop before it happens?

  • "This file was already imported on ….": the same file twice is refused. Press Choose another file.
  • "Opening … doesn't match the last closing … (…).": the file does not follow the last statement. Check it first; Import anyway is there only when you are sure.
  • "Your books open this account on …; this statement starts on ….": press Start it on … to skip lines from before your books start.
  • Before importing you see Check the file, with the movements, In, Out and Closing, and you confirm the account.

What if I already recorded lines from it?

  • A line recorded the wrong way: open it in Reconcile and press Undo. The books post the exact opposite entry; nothing is deleted.
  • A wrong match: press Unmatch. The lines become free to match again.
  • A reconciled statement: undo the reconciliation first. See How do I undo a reconciliation?

Can I delete the imported file?

The file stays under Received statements as a record of what the bank sent. You correct what was recorded from it, not the file itself. A statement replaced later shows "This statement was replaced by a newer one."
