How do I know my customer received the invoice email?

Look at the Email history under Send & share on the invoice. Each email shows its delivery status. "Sent" is not the same as "delivered": Deline only says delivered when the customer's mail server accepted the email.

What do the statuses mean?

  • Queued: the email is waiting to go out.
  • Submitted: the email provider accepted it. Delivery confirmation is pending.
  • Delivered to mail server: the recipient's mail server accepted this email. Whether it lands in the inbox or in spam is up to their mail system.
  • Bounced or Failed: the email could not be delivered. Check the address and send again.
  • Needs review: the provider's answer is uncertain. Check delivery before sending again, so the customer does not get it twice.

Is there another way to share the invoice?

Yes. Under Customer links, press Create 30-day link and send the link yourself. Anyone with the link can view the invoice and download its original PDF; with online payment switched on, they can also pay what remains.

Does Deline know if the customer opened it?

No. Deline shows delivery to the mail server, not whether the customer read the email.

Explanation written from the Deline app's own screens and texts (build eba146497 (Deline cf723fe1f)); it has no steps to check.
