Why does the exchange rate on my invoice need a fresh check?

Your invoice is in another currency than your books, and Deline needs a confirmed rate for the invoice date before it can issue it. The rate may be missing, changed or no longer valid for that date. Confirm the rate in the draft and issue again.

The messages

  • "The exchange rate on this invoice needs a fresh check. Confirm the rate in the draft, then issue again.": open the draft and look at the rate.
  • "Add the exchange rate to … for the invoice date, then save and issue again.": your books are in another currency and the rate to it is missing.
  • "Add the euro exchange rate for the invoice date, then save and issue again.": a Spanish invoice in another currency needs its euro rate.

Where does the rate come from?

The draft looks for an Automatic rate for the invoice date and shows where it comes from. You can always Enter manually an agreed rate instead; Deline marks it as a Custom rate.

  • "No automatic rate is recorded for this date, so enter the agreed rate.": type the rate you agreed with the customer.
  • When the latest recorded rate is from an earlier day, Deline shows it and offers Use this rate.
  • "Automatic rates can't be read right now. Enter the agreed rate or try again.": press Try auto rate again or enter the rate.

Does the rate change what my customer owes?

No. Your invoice balance stays in its original currency. The rate is used for your books and for any reference total in your own currency.

In Spain

A Spanish invoice in another currency is saved with its euro amounts. Issuing invoices in other currencies opens once your books can record them; to issue now, switch the invoice to EUR.
