Why can't I issue this Cyprus invoice?

The messages and what to do

• "This invoice charges VAT, but your business has no Cyprus VAT number with a registration date yet. …": an owner adds the VAT number and its registration date in Settings → Business, or you choose a rate without VAT.
• "A reverse-charge or intra-EU line needs the customer's EU VAT number. …": add the EU VAT number to the customer, or choose another rate.
• "The domestic reverse charge applies only to a Cyprus VAT-registered customer. …": add the customer's Cyprus VAT number, or charge VAT on the line.
• "A zero-rated sale to an EU business needs the customer's VIES check: a valid result, the date of the check (on or before the invoice date) and the consultation number. Record it on the customer. …": record the VIES check on the customer (see Invoice a business in another EU country from Cyprus (reverse charge and VIES)).
• "A line without VAT must say why, so the VAT return can place it. …": choose "VAT exempt (Article 26)", "VAT zero-rated" or another Cyprus rate on the line.

Which VAT rates can a Cyprus line use?

19 %, 9 %, 5 %, 3 % or 0 %. Any other rate is refused when you save the draft. A rate without VAT must be one of the built-in VAT treatments, so the VAT return can place it.

What about invoices in another currency?

An invoice in another currency shows its VAT in euro. If the rate to EUR is missing, Deline says "Add the exchange rate to EUR for the invoice date, then save and issue again."
