How do I record a credit note from a supplier in Cyprus?

Open the supplier's bill in Accounting → Bills and press Record supplier credit note. The lines come from the bill, so you keep only what the supplier credited. Deline shows what the books will record, and how the VAT 4 boxes change, before anything is saved.

What do I fill in?

The Supplier credit note form shows the bill's Bill, Paid, Credited before, Still owed and Can still be credited amounts. You add the Credit note number, the Credit note date, the date it was Received on and a Reason. Under What the supplier credited you keep the lines and change the amounts.

What does Check show?

Press Check. Under What the books will record you see the Credit note total, whether it Reduces what you owe or becomes a Refund to receive, and the VAT effect: "VAT return … – …: box 4 …, box 7 …". Input VAT falls in the VAT period you received the credit note. "A change in consideration, not an error correction: the €1,708.60 limit does not apply." Then press Record credit note.

The bill is already paid. What now?

Use Credit a paid bill and choose the bill. If the credit is more than you still owed, the difference is a Refund to receive: "More than you still owed: the supplier owes you this back. It waits under Refunds to receive until the money comes in." When the money arrives, match the bank line in Reconcile as Supplier refund received and press Record refund received.

What does Deline not do?

It does not file the VAT 4 return. You still file it on the Tax For All (TFA) portal. The credit note must be in the bill's currency.

If something goes wrong

  • "Add the credit note number.", "Add a reason." or "Keep at least one line with an amount."
  • "Something changed since the check. Check again before recording.": press Check again.
  • "This line is more than … still owes on that credit note (…).": the bank line is larger than the refund still due.

Explanation written from the Deline app's own screens and texts (build eba146497 (Deline cf723fe1f)); it has no steps to check.
